Sadaf is a molecular biologist, entrepreneur, poet, writer, cultural activist and women’s advocate. She studied Natural Sciences (majoring in Molecular Cell Biology) at Newnham College, University of Cambridge, obtaining a B.A Honours and M.A.. She is a fellow of Cambridge Commonwealth Trust, and completed an MSc in Biotechnology at Brac University, Bangladesh. She has been active in promoting links in biotechnology and the life sciences between academia and industry for over a decade. She also has many years experience in research, advocacy and activism in the health sector.
She is currently on the Board of Trustees of Brac University, and is on the governing body of the JNI - Research Centre for Mathematical and Physical Science, University of Chittagong – a centre committed to advanced study in the sciences.
Dr.Uddin obtained BS and MS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He obtained PhD in Molecular Medicine from Gifu University, Japan. He is an awardee of Japanese society for promotion of science (JSPS) postdoctoral fellowship (2003 -2005). Dr. Uddin is a Fellow of the American Heart Association and also serving as a Councilor of the Central Society for Clinical and Translational Research (CSCTR) for 2017-2020. He has published more than 100 peer reviewed articles and has presented more than 200 abstracts in national and international meetings. Dr. Uddin mentored more than 100 medical students, medical residents and fellows, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. He is a member of several professional societies and also a peer review member of several Journals and funding agencies at USA and several other countries.
Dr Nazneen has an experience of 25 years of clinical, preclinical & discovery research in genetics/genomics, drug development, personalized/precision medicine, cancer, diabetes, in biotechnology industry & academia. She is holding an executive management positions (healthcare & biotechnology industry) & faculty (Harvard University) for the past 20 years. She is an Advisory Board Member, Arizona State University New Health Solutions Initiative. She is the co-founder of startup biotech- biomarker discovery, development of diagnostic/predictive genetic tests, development of cancer drugs (one in Phase III and one in preclinical); development of diabetes drugs (1 in market &1 preclinical); development of DNA vaccines (Phase II) for cancer immunotherapy. She has published 60 scientific & medical literature.
